Honor requests to stop campaign messages

Recognize cancellation keywords and check that campaigns skip recorded cancellations.

Before you begin

An opt-out is a request to stop campaign messages. ZapBot needs working incoming-message events and the receiving device associated with your account to record it.

What to do

  1. Include a clear cancellation instruction in your campaign message, such as Reply PARAR to stop these messages.
  2. Check Contacts for the cancellation banner. It shows the number of recorded blocked contacts when there are any.
  3. Review Opt-outs blocked in the Console Pro list hygiene panel, which summarizes the condition of your contact lists.
  4. Open the campaign report after execution and inspect Opt-outs skipped. Recorded cancellations are skipped by the campaign sender.

Worked example

Fictional example: a reminder ends with Reply PARAR to stop these messages. Someone replies parar!. Once the incoming event records that cancellation, a future campaign encountering the number skips it.

How to check it worked

Contacts shows the recorded cancellation total. The campaign report shows skipped cancellations when those numbers are encountered. The banner is not a searchable list of individual replies.

What to know

  • Accepted keywords are STOP, PARAR, SAIR, CANCELAR, DESCADASTRAR, UNSUBSCRIBE and REMOVER.
  • The received text is trimmed, converted to uppercase and stripped of trailing spaces and common punctuation before matching. A longer sentence such as please stop messages is not the same as one keyword.
  • This block applies to campaign sending. It does not promise to block every other sending feature, and a configured automatic confirmation response may still reply. The browser campaign sender loads recorded cancellations when you start or resume it. A newly recorded cancellation may not affect a pass that has already started. After the new request is recorded, pause and resume the campaign before relying on the remaining recipients being skipped.

Common problems

What you see
The cancellation count does not change.
What to do
Check that the reply is a single accepted keyword, then ask support to check incoming event processing for that device.
What to expect
A successfully recorded request appears in the account count.
What you see
A contact still appears in a saved list.
What to do
Check the campaign report rather than removing and reimporting the number to bypass the request.
What to expect
The recorded cancellation is skipped during campaign execution even if the list still contains the number.

Get more help

If a valid request is not recorded, pause further campaigns until support checks incoming events. Do not move cancelled numbers to another list to resume messaging.
