Contacts and groups
View groups, join through a link and add members
Find existing groups, join by invitation and follow requests to add contacts.
Before you begin
Select a Connected, Signed in device. Joining or adding members requires active access. To join, use an invitation provided by the administrator. To add people, the selected account must belong to the group and have permission to add members.
What to do
- Open Groups.
- Choose the device whose groups you want to view.
- Search by group name, code or topic in either layout. Optionally enable Only groups I can send to or Exclude community announcements; both filters start off.
- To join through one invitation, return to Comfort using Exit Console Pro.
- Select Join group.
- Paste the invitation into Group link.
- Select Join group in the form.
- Check WhatsApp on that device to confirm membership.
- To add contacts to an existing group, choose Add members on its Comfort card or Console Pro row. Both layouts use the same form.
- Choose a saved contact list, paste complete phone numbers, or import a TXT or CSV file. When a CSV has several possible number columns, choose the phone column; one unambiguous phone column is selected automatically. Include the country and area codes; ZapBot does not guess missing codes or alternate numbers.
- Check the selected account and group. Review the unique candidate count, duplicate numbers, invalid entries and already identifiable members. Correct invalid entries or explicitly exclude them. Format checks do not confirm WhatsApp registration.
- Choose Start now or a local date and time, then set the interval in minutes. Review the account, group, numbers, exclusions, start time and interval in the final preview before saving the queue.
- Open Groups > Additions in either layout to follow saved requests and their per-person results. Once the queue is saved, you can close the page and return later.
- To prepare a send, select group checkboxes on Comfort cards or Console Pro rows, then choose Create send. Choose Fixed interval or Daily rotation and review the prefilled device and group names before submitting. After creation, Schedules opens in either layout so you can review the inactive item and explicitly enable it.
Worked example
Fictional example: Test support already belongs to Test group. Its code 120363XXXXX@g.us illustrates the format; copy your own group’s real code into forms.
How to check it worked
The group appears for the correct device after joining; check its membership in WhatsApp. For additions, the correct account and group appear in Additions. Check each person’s persisted result; Confirmed added confirms a new membership, and Already in group confirms they were present before the attempt. Pending approval still depends on the administrator.
What to know
- The code beneath a group’s name is its identifier, also called a JID, ending in @g.us. Selecting groups fills these codes into the send form automatically; an invitation is not a group identifier.
- Members shows participants recorded by the log; it does not add or remove people. Enable Log to record future events.
- Extract on a Comfort group card copies participant phone numbers. Extract under Saved collections in Console Pro copies group codes. In Comfort, Lists > New list lets you save those codes with a name.
- Leave on a group card removes the device from that group. For an invitation queue, use Scheduled joins; for messages, use Interval schedule or Daily rotation.
- Each addition queue accepts up to 1,000 unique numbers; an imported file must be no larger than 1 MiB. The interval is 1–1,440 minutes, with a five-minute default. Processing can start later than the requested time; these limits do not guarantee a safe WhatsApp rate or available group capacity.
- Queued means the request was saved, not that anyone joined. Confirmed added is reported only after a fresh membership check. Already in group and Duplicate registered identity skip another addition; Not on WhatsApp means the number was not registered when checked. Invitation required can result from privacy settings, and ZapBot does not automatically send a private invitation. Awaiting approval is shown only when an approval request is verified. Rejected is a refusal; Unconfirmed means the final result could not be established. Cancelled and Expired requests are no longer waiting for an attempt.
- Pause, Resume and Cancel control attempts that have not been dispatched. An attempt already sent may still finish. Use Retry selected eligible requests only for selected Rejected or Unconfirmed results after checking the cause; an unconfirmed person may already be a member. Retrying preserves the earlier attempt history and the waiting interval.
- Saved lists are copied into the queue at the reviewed version; later list edits do not change its numbers. If the list changes before saving, reload it and review the preview again. Automatic requests appear in the same Additions history, with the source rule and acceptance or blocking reason.
- Select visible adds only groups matching the current search and filters. Text search can hide selected groups without excluding them from Create send. Clear selection removes all selections. Changing the device clears selection, and refreshed groups remove unavailable destinations. Opening the form sends nothing; a schedule or rotation starts switched off.
- Only groups I can send to keeps groups whose available information confirms that the selected account is a member and can send messages. Groups restricted to administrators remain eligible when that account is an administrator. Groups with unknown membership or sending permissions are excluded while this filter is on. Exclude community announcements hides community announcement groups; it does not hide every group restricted to administrators.
- Turning a filter on or off preserves your selections. Create send uses only selected groups allowed by the active filters and shows how many selected groups will be omitted. Review that count before creating either an interval schedule or a daily rotation. Turn the filter off to include those groups again.
- Filters use information from the loaded group list without checking each group separately. That list can be incomplete, and permissions can change later. Filters do not validate manually pasted codes or saved lists and do not change schedules or rotations already saved.
Common problems
- What you see
- No groups found.
- What to do
- Check the selected device and its membership in WhatsApp. Turn off the optional group filters to see whether they hid a group; the loaded list may not include every group.
- What to expect
- The correct device’s groups appear, or you confirm that it is not a member yet.
- What you see
- The invitation does not work.
- What to do
- Ask the administrator for a current invitation and check for pending approval.
- What to expect
- You have a valid link or are waiting for the administrator’s decision.
- What you see
- Members is empty.
- What to do
- Check that Log is enabled and see the Group logs guide.
- What to expect
- New records may populate the list; it does not necessarily represent all current members.
- What you see
- The request is queued, paused or unconfirmed, but the person is absent.
- What to do
- Read the per-person result and queue reason. Check the account connection, access and group permission. For Unconfirmed, check membership in WhatsApp before selecting a retry.
- What to expect
- You identify the actual outcome or resolve the blocking cause before another attempt.
- What you see
- The file, list or selected contacts cannot be submitted.
- What to do
- Use a file no larger than 1 MiB and at most 1,000 unique complete numbers. Choose the phone column when a CSV has several possible number columns, correct malformed files and invalid entries and acknowledge any intended exclusions. Reload a saved list if its version changed.
- What to expect
- The preview shows the exact reviewed numbers and exclusions before the queue is saved.

Check membership before repeating an uncertain join or addition. Use Scheduled joins for invitation queues and Additions for member requests; include the displayed reason when asking support.
