Sending and automation

Save a reusable message sequence

Prepare an ordered set of text or media messages for use in another sending feature.

Before you begin

A sequence is a saved set of message steps. Saving sends nothing. Upload attachments to Media first and use Comfort to create or edit.

What to do

  1. Open Sequences in Comfort and choose New Sequence.
  2. Enter a name describing the intended use.
  3. Choose the message type for the first step: Text, Image, Video, File or Audio.
  4. Enter text, or choose the attachment with Select from library. The selected file becomes that step’s content.
  5. Enter a caption when the selected media type supports one.
  6. Set Delay after this message in seconds. This controls the wait after that step during a campaign.
  7. Choose Add when you need another step. Messages remain in the order shown; the editor allows up to 10.
  8. Choose Save Sequence after reviewing the content and order.

Worked example

Fictional example: Workshop welcome has two text steps. Step 1 says Your place is confirmed, with a 3-second delay. Step 2 says Bring a notebook. A campaign sends them in order with the wait; a rotation selects either message alone.

How to check it worked

The saved sequence shows its name and message count. Reopen it to check order and delays before campaign use.

What to know

  • In a campaign, messages in the selected sequence run in order for each contact. In a daily group rotation, the sequence is a pool from which one message is chosen randomly; the whole sequence is not sent.
  • Use Spintax preview to inspect text alternatives when you use them. Random alternatives can repeat. Console Pro offers Duplicate; return to Comfort to edit.

Common problems

What you see
Save reports invalid spintax.
What to do
Check that each opening brace has a closing brace and inspect the affected step’s preview.
What to expect
The brace error disappears and the sequence can be saved.
What you see
A media step cannot send.
What to do
Check Media for the attachment and replace a missing file in the sequence.
What to expect
The step references an available saved attachment.

If a sequence is empty or unsuitable for its destination, edit it before reuse. Avoid deleting attachments that saved sequences still need.
